Features of the ProForm 505 CST Treadmill

The ProForm 505 CST Treadmill has a lot of features and components one of which is the programmed workout, ProShock cushioning on the running surface as well as the ability of the equipment to connect to iFit (a program which can be powered by Google Maps), hence it gives you the ability to compete with other iFit members all over the world.

Convenience and Comfort

A newly redesigned model of The ProForm 505 CST is made to be convenient and durable. Its space saver design gives this equipment an easy-lift folding mechanism which makes it easy and fast to fold it up and store it away when not needed. Being compact it does not compromise its convenience for comfort. It also has a deck which is light and comfortable, and so it is ideal for areas with small space.

ProShock Cushioning

The ProForm 505 CST Treadmill provides users with excellent cushioning throughout their workout area to protect users’ joints from impact.

Speed Controls

It has a 2.5 CHP motor which powers the treadmill and offers users with a motorized incline of about 10% and also speeds from around 0 to 10 mph. It also comes with smaller 1.9” non-flex rollers which are balanced and ensure tension is decreased, thereby producing a smoother run. This speed could be better though, at least get up to 12mph as 10mph may be too low for sprint runs or interval workouts.

Heart Rate Control

The ProForm 505 CST Treadmill features a KG heart rate grip sensor and also heart rate monitoring programs, although it cannot use a cordless receiver to trace heart rates.

Running Area

It is a piece of compact equipment that is 20″ wide and 55″ long. However, this will pose a problem for taller users.

Console

As for the console, it features the same thing as other treadmills. Although it lacks in some entertainment flair, it is still equipped with two 2″ Intermix Acoustics speakers, and it is also compatible with smartphones and iPods. It has an audio functionality which enables you to play music even without the aid of earplugs. It also has a reading rack along with water bottle holders. Users can access the 6″ backlit screen, which has three displays that shows the speed, distance, and time of your workout.

Workout Programs

It has eighteen workout programs which are designed by a professional trainer. For each workout program, there is a set time limit, and this can alter the treadmill’s incline and speed. The workout program is designed in four categories which include: calorie, intensity, pace, and incline.

To obtain an infinite workout variety, there is a need to use an iFit membership along with the performance 505 CST and doing so involves purchasing the iFit monitor, which is sold separately. This iFit also enables you to download treadmill workout that is customized anytime you wish; you can even get to train with a celebrity personal trainer’s HD video workouts.

Furthermore, you can do a physical jog around the world using the Google Maps; all you have to do is choose from the suggested Google Maps route, you can also set a path that suits you.

Durability

It is a durable treadmill with a warranty which covers the frame’s lifetime. It has a twenty-five years warranty on the motor and also a one year warranty on the treadmill parts.

Motor

The motor is the Mach Z electromagnetic DC motor which is of commercial-grade. It is powerful and lasts for an extended period; it also operates quietly without noise. Although it’s not the most powerful treadmill out there, it still isn’t so bad.

Pros and Cons

It is iPod compatible and comes with two 2″ speakers
Has a backlit display and contact pulse monitor
It is foldable hence saves space
Features 10% power incline and 18 workout applications
The parts are less durable than other superior models
Has no wireless heart rate monitoring mechanism
Has a slow customer service
It takes over two hours to assemble the parts

Conclusion

The ProForm 505 Treadmill is made basically for those who are on a budget. It is also a great help to those just getting started on treadmill walking or light walking. In addition, it comes from a reputable brand and so can be trusted to give a quality performance.

ProForm is a brand known for its durability, ease of use and reliability, and the ProForm 505 Treadmill is no exception.

With its space-saving and folding design, its shock-absorbing mechanism and its impressive program variety it will serve you well in your home, especially if a number of people are to share the machine. So, if you are on a budget and yet wish to purchase a reliable treadmill, then the ProForm 505 CST Treadmill may be the product you are looking for.

I love exercising in the morning, but my husband usually sleeps until noon. And we used to always curse about the noise of my simulators that woke him. Of course, the trainer should be chosen according to the power, the number of programs and the strength of the parts, but for us the most important function was its volume! And I can definitely say that this model works almost silently

This is not the most amazing treadmill on the market but it is one of the better options you may find for its cost in terms of the needs it meets for the infrequent runner!

If you like to manually add in bursts of speed you will love this treadmill as it adjusts between speeds very nicely and evenly

It is not really noisy. It makes a swoosh sounds as you walk or run on it – but not noise.

I had the Proform 500 for 10+ years and it finally broke. Parts being 50% of the replacement value meant it was time to upgrade. The Proform 505 is better as it is quieter and has shock absorbers!

It took 3 hours from starting to open till it was completed and working. No stress. Not bad and not something to be put off by as long as you plan on a 3 hours easy assembly.

It’s really IS 98% assembled in the box. It’s very easy to complete the assembly – just a few screws is all you need to get it set up; and these obviously come with it.
